The LCC is a growing coordination entity that includes representatives from 13 state ERRs, 9 local Sudanese NGOs that prioritize grassroots work and currently working on including 6 international NGOs as observers. Through the LCC, the organizations coordinate, strategize and share resources. Through the LCC, member organizations triage priorities and direct finite resources to those locations in Sudan where the needs are the most urgent while planning for the short, mid and long term humanitarian aid, peace building and development of Sudan.
The LCC currently has the consists of the following bodies:
- Local NGOs: KACE, GISA-Localization Hub, Alayam, GISR, Adeela, SAPA, Nidaa, People to People and Almalam.
- State ERRs: Khartoum State, Al Jazeera, Sennar, River Nile, Kasala, North/ South/ Central/ East/ West Darfur and West/ North/ South Kordofan.
- International NGO Observer: SaferWorld, DCA, ACTED, DRC, NRC and CORE.
As resources are provided to support mutual aid efforts, the LCC, through the voices of each of the representatives, makes decisions on which regions of Sudan to direct the resources and to the local Sudanese organizations working in those areas. Also the working groups from the different states come together to coordinate and LCC projects alongside the NGOs.
How We Work
- Community-Led Decision-Making: ERRs and Sudanese NGOs take the lead in determining priority needs and directing aid.
- Resource Coordination: LCC facilitates joint planning to maximize impact with limited resources.
- Strategic Planning for Long-Term Stability: While responding to immediate crises, we also plan for mid- and long-term recovery.
- Inclusive & Transparent Process: Decisions are made collectively, ensuring equitable access to support across Sudan.
